“Since 1947, making a critical difference in the academic lives, and, ultimate, the
professional lives of worthy young people from our community.”

Scholastic Boosters to become an endowed
  fund within Rutgers University Foundation
Since 1947, The Millburn-Short Hills Scholastic Boosters has provided providing grants to Millburn High School students trying to close the shortfall in their college funding packages. More than 1,000 students have received awards totaling in excess of $1 million.

In order to continue our mission of service to the Millburn-Short Hills community, we are taking steps that will change the operating nature of our organization. Beginning with the 2020-21 academic year and continuing forward, The Boosters will exist and operate as an endowed scholarship fund within Rutgers University Foundation.

The decision to make this change was not an easy one. Increasing operating expenses and substantial decreases in contributions generated by our annual outreach to township residents have necessitated finding a new way to continue the Boosters’ long-standing service to local students.

We believe this new arrangement provides the best means for continuing the mission the Boosters began in 1947, assisting Millburn High School graduates who attend Rutgers University and need financial assistance. Those MHS graduates should contact the financial aid office at Rutgers to determine if they are eligible for a Boosters award.

Commenting of the new arrangement, Nevin E. Kessler, President, Rutgers University Foundation, said, “Rutgers is grateful for the confidence of the Millburn-Short Hills Scholastic Boosters in entrusting its endowed scholarship fund to Rutgers University Foundation for management. The Foundation will ensure that students from Millburn High School in need of financial assistance are not held back from their dreams of obtaining a college degree.”

We deeply appreciate the generous support of the Millburn community over the past seven decades, which has enabled The Boosters to achieve the civic service goals set in 1947.
